Hand signed and plate signed lower right, numbered "XXXI" and annotated in pencil, lower right, edition size 100. The artwork comes from the suite Estampes, that includes 12 colour wood engravings by Georges Braque (Nature Morte aux Huitres), Maurice Brianchon (La Neige à Auteuil), Marc Chagall (La Sirène), François Desnoyer (Liseuses au Bord de Mer), Raoul Dufy (Le Casino de la Jetée à Nice), Marie Laurencin (Portrait de Femme en Rouge), Henri Matisse (Nature Morte au Magnolia), Pablo Picasso (La Casserole Emaillée), Maurice Utrillo (Le Jardin de Montmagny), Kees Van Dongen (Tête de Femme), Maurice de Vlaminck (Les Blés dans le Perche), and Henri de Waroquier (Dolori Sacrum). All 12 prints are individually signed by the artist in pencil or crayon, as well as signed in the plate. The suite was published by Robert Rey in 1950.
